Our models of learning

As supported by our gold-star curriculum

Language Acquisition

Our founding mission at Blue Bridge ASL Academy is to deliver bilingual language acquisition in early childhood, as supported by science and as demonstrated in our bilingual babies! From infancy through pre-K, we dedicate state-of-the-art tools and professionals to language acquisition and literacy in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English. This is available to all little ones, including hearing children and Deaf children alike.

Health, Nutrition
& Wellness

At Blue Bridge, we’re proud to nourish our little ones- from brain, to heart, to tummy! Our Louisiana State Certified, in-house chef is always looking for new ways to keep mealtime engaging and nutritious. With a focus on real whole foods, whole-wheat grains, and plenty of fruits and veggies- we bring a delicious, parent-approved twist on childhood favorites.

Social-Emotional Learning

Blue Bridge prioritizes social-emotional learning (SEL) and communication skills throughout the scope of our Bilingual Babies’ time with us, however we place a special emphasis on these developments in the pre-K setting. Here we model exemplary communication, healthy social structures, and both personal and inter-personal expressions in a kid-friendly, science-backed model of development. Learn more about how we meet each child where they are in a social-emotional context by contacting our educator team.

Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts & Mathematics

Driven by our gold-standard Frog Street  curriculum, Blue Bridge enriches early childhood learning with principals of S.T.E.A.M. (or science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), from ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Each of our classrooms are equipped with tools and toys which bring learning to life, from neurologically-enriching sensory experiences to kid-approved science experiments.

Proudly serving Deaf & hearing children
Ages 6 weeks to 5 years

We apply principals of both Montessori & traditional, play-to-learn, and whole-child engagement to make early academics exciting and accessible in our classrooms. Guided by gold-standard, Louisiana-certified teachers, each child is met where they are to achieve classroom readiness in time for kindergarten.

A day in the life of a bilingual baby

7:30 AM: A nutritious breakfast, with conversations about the sensory experience of our meal - and the healthful values of each ingredient.

8:30 AM: Child-led discussion of the day’s weather conditions, date, day of the week, any upcoming holidays, and anything that makes today extra special.

9:00 AM: Bilingual storytime - where we meet the pinnacle of child-like imagination in both English and American Sign Language, and ensure language cognition along the way.

9:30 AM: Explorative music & movement - where we sing, dance, and explore the vibrational rhythm of music - for all children to enjoy!

10:00 AM: Outdoor adventure on our expansive playgrounds. We invite the kiddos to explore the sights, smells, and feelings of the great outdoors.

11:00 AM: Interactive lunch - in which the kiddos are engaged in conversation about the locally sourced, seasonal ingredients on their plates - and how we can craft them into a belly-satiating meal.

11:30 AM: Rest & nap time!

1:30 PM: Engaging math & numbers lesson - all about numbers, counting and more!

3:30 PM: Closing circle time - where we host a child-led daily reflection of their favorite parts of the day, along with a discussion of the day’s learning.

4:00 PM: Another ASL storytime to close out the academic day!

4:30 PM: One more outdoor play for the day! We’ll bring the chalk, jump ropes, and bikes. You bring the sense of adventure.

Out of the multitude of schools that I looked at when looking for daycare, Blue Bridge shined the brightest. The class sizes are the smallest I have found anywhere which allows the teachers to be more hands-on with the students; Participating in crafts, Teaching them sign language, Going outside and exploring… Those are just a few things that the school does.
